There are benefits of going to church which a number of people don’t know about. As a Christian, Love is necessary. Love is the basis of all in the kingdom of God and love is the fulfilling of the law. A number of people fight, keep malice with others just because of some irrelevant thing that happened. There is no justifiable reason for malice keeping.
Effect of keeping Malice/ Lack of love
- One does not fulfill the law resulting in one missing out of Heaven if one dies.
- Prayers will not be answered.
- Blessings will stop flowing.
- Lack of favor.
- Things around one’s life become difficult.
Don’t let your good works come to naught only because someone offended you. Offenses will surely come. Have the mentality of forgiveness even before the person offends you, it’s for your own benefit.
Asides from doubt, another weapon the devil uses in robbing people of their blessings is malice/hatred, etc. When one does this, the person automatically belongs to him because he is the father of disobedience.
Benefits of going to Church
The Church of God is known as mount zion. According to Hebrews 12 vs 22-24,
- 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
- 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
- 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Whenever we go to church, we should have it in mind that we are not alone.
In Church
- we go from strength to strength (Psalm 84: 7). Whether we feel it physically or not, our spirit man is energized and the spirit controls the flesh.
- An outbreak of light: God has put teachers in churches to open our eyes to better understand the Word of God and how we can apply this to our lives. There might be an issue of concern in one’s life and one word from the altar can change his/her story.
3. We receive our deliverance in Church (Obadiah 1: 17)
4. We have the opportunity of giving appropriately in the Church, knowing that we are 100% sure of being rewarded by God (Malachi 3: 10).
With respect to giving, a number of people have been discouraged from giving because it feels like the pastor or so is taking their money. Truly, there are some men of God that are all out and about what the congregation has to give and this is not right.
Some will even tell you to bring some amount of money one may not be able to afford so that they can pray for you or give you some type of oil/water. This is not Biblical. In Matthew 10: 5-8, when Jesus sent out the 12 disciples to heal the sick and raise the dead, he said, “freely you have received, freely give”.
We are to judge things by the Word of God.No human being should force you to give what you don’t want to. Giving our tithes and offerings is a necessity because God commanded it and whatever God commands is for our benefit. It is better not to give at all than to give grudgingly. Financial prosperity goes with the covenant of seedtime and harvest and there is no reaping without sowing on good soil.
Final note
As much as we need the Holy Spirit’s guidance to help us as we go on in the journey of life, It is also important that we regularly attend church services so as not to miss out on the benefits.
