The difference between godly and ungodly wealth.

I started writing about wealth in the previous post. In this post, I will be writing about the difference between godly and ungodly wealth. When people see those that are wealthy, what comes to mind most of the time is, “I want to be just like this person”. They don’t really care about the source of their wealth. People are just after being rich, they even go to the length of fellow human beings for money rituals.

Those who get their wealth through ungodly means will definitely pay for it because as far as the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest shall not cease. This can also be interpreted as whatsoever one sow, the same shall he reap. Most of the time, this type of wealth looks flashy, enticing. It’s better for one to run away from such or enters the trap of the devil. It’s only a matter of time before they reap whatever they have sown. Although the time for punishment varies, some might be instant while others might take a long time but when this happens, their wealth will evaporate into the thin air like it never existed. Psalm 37: 1, 7: We are told not to worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. They will NEVER go unpunished. 

Godly wealth is pure, incorruptible, and lasts forever because whatsoever God doeth is forever (Ecc. 3: 14). A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous (Proverbs 13: 22). To access this type of wealth, you have to go through a process.

Difference between godly and ungodly wealth

1. i) Godly wealth has benefits both on earth and in eternity while ungodly wealth has a short-lived benefit on earth and punishment in eternity
2. ii) When one has godly wealth on earth, there is no craving for more and more as seen in ungodly wealth.

iii) People with godly wealth enjoy peace roundabout but ungodly wealth causes unrest. Sometimes such people run when no one is chasing them.

1. iv) With rest comes good health and well being but the ungodly who have unrest develop all forms of sicknesses and diseases that sometimes will end up eating all their money.

What is common to both is, both the godly and the ungodly man will die leaving all their earthly wealth behind but the godly man will reap the benefits in eternity.
