A lot of people are settling for less. They reach a particular place in their lives and are comfortable with where they are. We need to leave our comfort zone and aim higher.
Settling for less could be observed in various areas of our lives. Some of these areas are; financially, health-wise, maritally, occupationally, spiritually, etc. It is God’s will that we prosper. Psalm 35: 27 says;
Let them shout for joy and be glad,
Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually,
“Let the Lord be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
God also wants us to be the best in all we do.
The earthly mentality about settling
People on earth have the mentality of, “ I cannot wait much longer”, “I cannot stress my self”, “I am satisfied with where I am”. Also, some believe they can do whatever they like and become anything they want to. While this is true we must also have it at the back of our minds that there is a purpose for each and every one of us on earth.
We have been given the will power by God to make decisions regarding our lives and must also remember that life does not just end on this planet earth. There is eternity still in view and it is what you do on earth that determines where you are and how you are being rewarded in eternity.
Scripted Mentality
Someone once told me that everything we do on earth is scripted. i.e, there is a pattern we have to follow, irrespective of what we do, we still find ourselves doing these things.
Well, this is not true. As much as we were given specific purposes on earth by our Heavenly Father, the “will power” is what makes all the difference. What one does or does not determines where one will actually find one’s-self.
Some people had glorious things for them in their lifetime but decided to settle for less and take the wrong path resulting in a disastrous ending. This is similar to those preaching the gospel of grace, telling people that it’s okay to sin and grace covers all, well this is just a short cut to hell. Remember to prove all things by the Word of God and Romans 6 vs 1- 2 says, “
1)What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
